Serene Haven in Victoria West is a must if you are travelling through the Karoo. I have stayed here many times, and it's wonderful to arrive at this home, which is beautifully looked after, serene, calm, and peaceful.
The gardens are lovely, with a great pool to cool off in. The house is very comfortable and elegant, with really great bedrooms. Beds are very comfortable and perfect for a good night's sleep.
The hit is the enormous shower in the main bathroom.
And the most charming of hosts, Penny, who will go out of her way to make you feel like you never want to leave.
I will be back.

A Hidden Gem in the Karoo
We had a wonderful stay at this charming guesthouse in a small Karoo town. The rooms are beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches, and the luxurious bathroom was a real highlight.
The pool and braai area made for a perfect afternoon of relaxation, and the peaceful surroundings added to the charm.
The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind in style.

This little private-run guesthouse is so very sweet. My husband and I travelled all the way from Botswana back to Cape Town by car, and after a three-week wild camping trip, we decided to spend our last night in a guesthouse.
We found 'Serene Haven' by chance and did not expect anything special in such a small little town so far away from everything.
Well, we ended up staying 3 nights in the end because it felt like home already.
The property and house are very clean; we had lovely, fresh linen, and towels were also offered. We spent the evenings in the lounge on the couch watching TV, and the sweet owner, Penny, also offered to cook and had a little menu ready for us; it was so good and very reasonably priced. We also made use of the braai facilities and the pool in the garden.
What a nice surprise and beautiful stay with Penny. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.
